Background

The company, serving the Mid-Atlantic region, specializes in liquid fertilizers, micronutrients, crop protectants, and agriculture services. Facing the limitations of outdated software applications, Willard sought a software overhaul to improve product ordering and sales order processing across their five factories.

Challenge

The primary challenge in this project was to transition Willard Agri-Service from its reliance on outdated software to a modern, integrated system. The company had been depending on a 15-year-old custom Visual Basic application alongside a 10-year-old PHP application. These legacy systems were crucial for managing sales orders and overseeing fertilizer production across Willard's five manufacturing facilities. However, these applications were becoming increasingly inadequate for the company's growing needs. They were not only difficult and costly to maintain but also lacked the flexibility and efficiency required for today's fast-paced production demands.
